Drawings

This existing home went through a major remodel adding the large dining and family rooms. As seen on the floor plan the office was once the dining room and the clients wanted a larger entertaining space.

The client have two small children so we kept the playroom in the front area of the house and rearranged their living space.

The husband works from home a few times a week so it was essential that he had a proper office space in which we designated in the front of the home.

Walking into the kitchen area, you feel the open floor plan viewing all three rooms as you entertain your guests. This gourmet Kitchen boasts of a 10' island that seats 4 people comfortably, Along the left wall is a double refridgerator.

Over to the right of the floor plan is a built in banquette for a breakfast nook.

The spacious family room has cathedral ceilings and built in window seats on either side of the fireplace as the children's reading areas.

The Dining room again is large enough to expand a table to seat 12 comfortably. It also overlooks the elevated, covered patio area which over looks the pool. We used all existing furniture for this room and moved their pendant light to the room as well. We added some finishing touches with drapes and a rug to complete the look.

Flooring

The flooring is a distressed dark wood in 5" planks that covers the entire first floor with the exception of the family room. The family room is a cool white textured carpet that served as a backdrop to the soft blue walls and grey furniture.

Office

The office has all new furniture by Ballard Designs. We selected 2 Tuscan Hutch and Lateral Files, and 2 book cases and desk. Although the husband works from home at times, this was also a shared space with the wife.

Kitchen and Breakfast Nook

The clients had a vision of having an eclectic look. As you tour the home, you have a kitchen with traditional cabinets in a cream vintage look and brown granite counter tops yet the island counterstools provide although a classic look the grey washed finish on the wood and rattan backing gives a sense you shopped at a local furniture store at the shore.

We paired the island with nautical bronzed pendant lights.

The breakfast nook has a built in window seat with custom cushions. The table is by Restoration Hardware that also has that light grey washed natural finish.

The aqua bushel basket chandelier was a true find that went perfectly for this casual morning area.

We also added a pair of Xavier Pauchard Vintage Chairs to complete the look.

Family Room

This great sectional is truly a custom set. With the different variations available (which we explored) we settled on an extra long sofa with chaise, and matching loveseat with custom grey taupe fabric. We kept with the theme of rustic woods into the family room with the twin set coffee table from Pottery Barn and console. The Media stand is a walnut with a grey washed finish.
