Kitchen & Bath Renovation

This couple needed to update their kitchen but wanted to keep the honey oak cabinets because they were custom made. So we focused on flooring, counter and backsplash, Previously, the floor was a rolled linoleum floor with a rubber baseboard. Counters were a beige laminate. We updated the floor with  an 18 x 18 tile on an angle to give the illusion of a larger room. The baseboards were stained to match cabinets. We also had the stacked stone backsplash to complement the floor and did a white quartz counter to have a clean look. We painted walls in Revere Pewter as a nice soft back drop to compliment the soft greys in the materials.

The downstairs bathroom was completely gutted to the studs. It is a Victorian home so we wanted to keep with the elements of traditional but definitely with a modern edge to it.

The color scheme in this bathroom was black and white with a grey accent.

We did the mosaic black and white floor. White subway tile covered the bathtub area and we accented a marble mosaic in the center with a Victorian tile chairail that acted as a top and bottom border for the mosaic tile.

The vanity was a black cabinet with caned doors and turned legs. I wanted it to look like a piece of furniture rather than a vanity. Topped with a carrera marble counter top. The fixtures were Chrome finish. We added that old world charm with a traditional running waterfall faucet.

The upstairs bathroom was also gutted to the studs. We also kept some elements of traditional but kept with today's trends on color and design.  We had an expresso wood floor tile and neutralized it with a large rectangular tile that was a soft grey in the bathtub area. We also did an accent mosaic like downstairs but kept this clean and simple. I found a vanity that had this dental moulding in the detail of the vanity. We also had built a walk in closet for their linens. That was right behind the entry door. The fixtures here were a nickel finishes.
